Shelley Lubben (born May 18, 1968 as Shelley Lynn Moore in Pasadena , California , United States ; † February 9, 2019 in Springville, Tulare County , California) was a former porn actress who became known under the stage name Roxy . She became a professed Christian , ended her career, and fought against the dangers of pornography . Their motto was: "Porn workers are abused every day and it's time to do something about it."

Life

Lubben said she was sexually molested when she was nine years old. As a teenager, she made her living doing prostitution . She later appeared in an unknown number of porn films . After alcohol and drug problems and an infection with genital herpes , she became a believer and quit the sex business.

Later she supported in particular the anti-porn activist Charles M. Calderon , who wants to curb pornography through higher taxation, and gave lectures against the "evil of pornography". Together with her husband, she founded the Pink Cross project , which is supposed to help porn actors to get out of the sex industry. In the documentary Traffic Control: The People's War on Internet Porn , their fight against pornography is detailed. She also commented on this topic in the documentary After Porn Ends , shot in 2010 and published in 2012 .

In 2010, Shelley Lubben published her biography Truth Behind the Fantasy of Porn: The Greatest Illusion on Earth.

On February 9, 2019, she was found dead at a trailer park in Springville, Tulare County (CA), aged only 50. The cause of death remained unclear.
