Master Shin Boo-young (* 1944 in Pusan , South Korea ; 9th Dan ) - student of Hwang Ki - was the founder and director of the former central school for Moo-Duk Kwan Taekwondo in Europe.

Shin was born in Busan in 1944. In 1957 he entered the local Moo Duk Kwan Taekwondo School of Hwang Ki . He came to Germany as a mining worker in 1970 and took over from Kwon Jae-hwa to build up the German national team when he went to the USA, and was its coach from 1972 to 1975. In 1973 Shin founded sports schools in the Danish cities of Ballerup , Copenhagen , Køge , Midtdjurs and Sønderborg . In 1975 he became a member of the technical committee in Kukkiwon , Korea.

In 1976 Shin founded his own sports school in Hamburg . In 1997, he passed his state examination in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) at the University of Jentschi. In 2004 he became CEO of the Korean Association Hamburg. He has been a licensed alternative practitioner since 2011 .
