Shou ( Chinese  寿县 , Pinyin Shòu Xiàn ) is a district of the prefecture -level city of Huainan in the west of the Chinese province of Anhui . It has an area of ​​2986 square kilometers and has a population of 1,398,000 (2018). Until 2015 it belonged to the prefecture-level city of Lu'an .

The district lies south of the Huai He , the river forms part of the north-west border. In the far north lies the Bagong Shan . In the east of the district lies the Wabu lake , in its center the Anfeng pond (安 丰 塘, Ānfēng táng ), the western border is formed by the Pi He river . The Anfeng Pond as part of the Quebei Irrigation Project ( 芍 陂 , Quèbēi ) stands together with the site of the Chu Town Shouchun (寿春 城 遗址, Shòuchūn chéng yízhǐ ) from the Warring States period and the Shou Old City Wall (寿县古 城墙, Shòuxiàn gǔ chéngqiáng ) on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China .

Agriculture is the predominant industry in Shou, mainly rice, wheat (about 100,000 hectares each) and rapeseed (30,000 hectares) are grown. Other products include meat and meat products, products from freshwater culture, as well as bamboo, cotton and clothing.
