Shut Up and Play the Hits is a documentary film by the two British filmmakers Will Lovelace and Dylan Southern from 2012. In the 108-minute music film, they capture the concert of the music project LCD Soundsystem on April 2, 2011 in New York . The film is named after a joking call from Win Butler , the singer of the band Arcade Fire , who was a guest musician on stage. It was first shown on January 22, 2012 at the Sundance Film Festival .

During the concert, which took place in front of around 20,000 people in Madison Square Garden on April 2, 2011 , the initiator of the LCD sound system , James Murphy , explained the breakup at the height of its success. Lovelace and Dylan captured the nearly four-hour concert with eleven cameras. In addition to the concert recordings, you can see an interview with the music journalist Chuck Klosterman , which he conducted a week before the farewell concert with Murphy. The two filmmakers also accompany Murphy the day after the concert.
