In 2002 it became known to a wider audience as the LCD sound system with the single Losing My Edge . After the release of LCD Soundsystem in 2005 and Sound Of Silver in 2007, Murphy announced the dissolution of LCD Soundsystem with the release of the third studio album This Is Happening in 2010 . On April 2, 2011, LCD Soundsystem performed for the last time in Madison Square Garden in New York.
In the following years he worked with the Gorillaz , André 3000 , Jarvis Cocker , David Bowie and Arcade Fire , among others .
In late 2015, Murphy reactivated LCD sound system and began work on a fourth studio album called American Dream, due for release on September 1, 2017.
