action

The once successful documentary filmmaker Josh has been struggling for years to complete a film critical of capitalism. The man in his mid-forties leads an aging middle-class marriage with Cornelia in New York . The fact that a befriended couple of the same age has a child allows them to examine their own attitude towards children. One day Josh meets the much younger hipster couple Jamie and Darby. They admire him, especially since Jamie is working on a documentary himself and sees Josh as a role model. They become friends, and inspired by the two of them, Josh and Cornelia feel themselves in their mid-twenties again until reality catches up with them again. At the same time, it is becoming more and more apparent that Jamie wanted to take advantage of Josh to make a career as a documentary filmmaker.

  • At Rotten Tomatoes , the film received 83 percent of the critics, while it was only 55 percent of the audience.
  • From Moviepilot 6.5 points were awarded on a scale from 0 to 10 points on average.
