Sic is a thrash metal band from the Faroe Islands .

meaning

The band formed in 2002 and played a few gigs, but no recordings have survived. Sic has been playing in the current line-up since 2005.

With their extremely powerful music and their vulgar demeanor, they quickly became the undisputed number 1 metal band on the islands. Petur Pólson said: “Your extreme sound is completed with - yes - melancholy and beautiful melodies. They also spice it up with a pinch of humor ”.

In February 2006, work began on the debut album. In September in Denmark they recorded 13 tracks within 15 days, which they themselves say are "a milestone in metal history". In fact, Pandemonium also gained recognition in international specialist circles.

They were played on the Australian internet radio station Dark Cloud Radio and voted band of the month by the listeners. In the Peruvian internet magazine and radio station Rockum they got 8.8 out of 10 points. There they were compared to Sevendust (in their prime), Machine Head , Slipknot , Glassjaw and Max Cavalera when he recorded Roots with Sepultura and in his early years with Soulfly . The latter comparison from a South American point of view was perhaps the greatest praise for Sic, since Max Cavalera is considered the best musician of his genre in South America. Rockum wrote: "Mikkjal is enthusiastic and performs a style that is on par with the singers of the groups mentioned."

One Faroese critic noted: “With Pandemonium, Sic has made its mark in Faroese music history. The output is outstanding and created something new within Faroese music. We are talking about very nice noise. "

No other band in the Faroe Islands has such a large fan base as Sic. The young female fans on the islands belong to their own fashion movement and are called "Sic chicks".
