The sifter is a 2.6 km long orographically left tributary of the Wiebelsaat in North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany . The stream flows completely in the area of the town of Meinerzhagen, which is part of the Märkisches Kreis .
geography
The stream rises about 500 m southwest of Nocken in the western Ebbegebirge at an altitude of 534 m above sea level. NN . Flowing mainly in westerly directions, the sifter crosses under the federal motorway 45 after around 450 m of flow . Then the sifter turns to the southwest. The 0.6 km long Ramenssiepen opens on the left at station kilometer 1.1 and the 1.627 km long sifter at station kilometer 0.8. After flowing through Singerbrink , the sifter empties at 383 m above sea level. NN on the left side in the onion seed . With a height difference of 151 m, the mean bed slope is 58.1 ‰. The catchment area of 2,647 km² is drained to the North Sea via Wiebelsaat, Volme , Ruhr and Rhine .
The sifter flows through long stretches of the nature reserve sifter valley areas .
