from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Sichter Valley Spaces nature reserve is an 18.47 hectare nature reserve north of Meinerzhagen in the Märkisches Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia . The NSG was designated in 2001 by the district council of the Märkischer Kreis with the landscape plan No. 6 Meinerzhagen . In the south of the NSG, the nature reserve Duwelssiepen borders directly at a small point . The NSG consists of two areas. The federal highway 45 separates the NSG.

Area description

The NSG is the meadow valley of the meandering sifter with its floodplain . There is some forest and grassland in the floodplain . Partly there is wet and damp grassland in the NSG. Some of the grassland has fallen fallow . The source of the stream classifier is also located in the NSG .

Protection purpose

The nature reserve was designated for the preservation and development of the valley and as a habitat for endangered animal and plant species. As with other nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation indicated that the area became a nature reserve “because of its scenic beauty and uniqueness”.

For the NSG there is a special prohibition "to use the indigenous wet forest areas (alder swamp forest, brook-alder-ash forest, source area in beech forest) purely for forestry purposes".
