Wiebelsaat nature reserve

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The nature reserve Wiebelsaat is a 25.71 hectare nature reserve (NSG) southwest or north of the village Wiebelsaat in the town of Meinerzhagen in the Märkisches Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia . The NSG was designated in 2001 by the district council of the Märkischer Kreis with the landscape plan No. 6 Meinerzhagen . The NSG goes to the city limits to Kierspe . The NSG consists of four sub-areas.

Area description

The NSG is the meadow valley of the meandering onion seed with the floodplain . In the NSG there are areas with alder forest. Otherwise there is mostly grassland in the NSG. Some of the grassland has fallen fallow.

Protection purpose

The nature reserve was designated for the conservation and development of the meadow valley and as a habitat for endangered animal and plant species. As with other nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation indicated that the area became a nature reserve “because of its scenic beauty and uniqueness”.

For the NSG there is a special prohibition "to use the indigenous wet forest areas (brook-alder-ash forest, alder marsh forest) purely for forestry purposes".
