from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Willertshagener Wiesen nature reserve is a 5.19 hectare nature reserve (NSG) south of the village of Willertshagen and east of the Meinerzhagen motorway exit of the federal motorway 45 in the town of Meinerzhagen in the Märkisches Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia . The NSG was designated in 2001 by the district council of the Märkischer Kreis with the landscape plan No. 6 Meinerzhagen .

Area description

The NSG is the Lister meadow valley . At the river there is a gaping wooded line with alders and willows. In the meadow there are meadows and pastures. The northernmost meadow area in the NSG is crossed by several drainage ditches. The aconite buttercup occurs in larger groups .

Protection purpose

The nature reserve was designated “for the maintenance, restoration and optimization of a mainly grassland-dominated low mountain range as a habitat for numerous endangered plant and animal communities”. As with other nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation indicated that the area became a nature reserve “because of its scenic beauty and uniqueness”.

In the NSG it is forbidden to mow the grassland before June 15th.
