from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Herveler Bachtal nature reserve with a size of 4.1 hectares is located on the northern edge of the town of Meinerzhagen . The nature reserve (NSG) was designated in 2001 by the Märkischer Kreis with the landscape plan No. 6 Meinerzhagen . The northern edge of the NSG borders on the municipality of Herscheid and the Herveler Bachtal (Herscheid) nature reserve of the same name with a size of 1.8 hectares. On the northern edge, the road 696 partially forms the NSG border.

Area description

NSG is the Herveler Bachtal with the Herveler Bach , a tributary of the Verse , and partly fallow wet and wet grassland areas .

Protection purpose

According to the nature reserve designation, the area was designated a nature reserve for the preservation, development and restoration of a stream valley with a specially adapted flora and fauna. It is noted that there are large occurrences of the monkshood buttercup ( Ranunculus aconitifolius ), which is restricted to the Southern Mountains in North Rhine-Westphalia . As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
