Ebbebach valley nature reserve

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Ebbebach Valley nature reserve is a 6.01 hectare nature reserve (NSG) northwest of Rinkscheid in the urban area of Meinerzhagen in the Märkisches Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia . The NSG was designated in 2001 by the district council of the Märkischer Kreis with the landscape plan No. 6 Meinerzhagen . The Auf'm Ebbe nature reserve , part of the Steimer Siepen area, is only separated from the NSG by a path at one point.

Area description

The NSG is the meadow valley of the meandering Ebbebach with flood plain . There is grassland in the floodplain . Partly there is wet and damp grassland in the NSG. Some of the grassland has fallen fallow .

Protection purpose

The nature reserve was designated for the conservation and development of the meadow valley and as a habitat for endangered animal and plant species. As with other nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation indicated that the area became a nature reserve “because of its scenic beauty and uniqueness”.

For the NSG there is a special prohibition "to use the indigenous wet forest areas (alder swamp forest) purely for forestry purposes".
