Nature reserve Auf dem Krämer

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The nature reserve Auf dem Krämer is a 1.05 hectare nature reserve (NSG) in the town of Meinerzhagen in the Märkisches Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia . The NSG was expelled by ordinance from the Arnsberg district government in 1949 and 1965. The NSG was designated again in 2001 by the district council of the Märkisches Kreis with the landscape plan No. 6 Meinerzhagen .

Area description

The NSG is a juniper heather and a deciduous forest.

Protection purpose

The nature reserve was designated to preserve, maintain and restore a regionally rare juniper heather as a culturally and historically valuable relic of former forms of grazing with local communities of plants and animals in nutrient-poor locations. As with other nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation indicated that the area became a nature reserve “because of its scenic beauty and uniqueness”.
