Siegfried Lefanczik (born July 4, 1930 in Genthin ; † February 2016 there ) was a German walker .

biography

Lefanczik won the championship title in the 10 km walk at the GDR championships in 1955 . At the European Championships in Stockholm in 1958 , he was seventh in the 20 km walk . At the Olympic Games in Rome in 1960 , when he was fifth, he was disqualified for poor walking.

In addition to athletics, he worked as a photographer and volunteered for the newspaper Volksstimme . Lefanczik died at the age of 85 after a serious illness.
