Siegfried Naser

Siegfried Naser (born January 17, 1951 in Iphofen , Kitzingen district ) is a German CSU politician and former president of the Bavarian Savings Banks Association .

education and profession

After high school in Gaibach and law studies in Würzburg and Munich , Naser was a lawyer in the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior from 1979 to 1981 and also taught at the Academy for Public Health. From 1981 to 1984 he was head of the Public Safety and Order Department, Economic Development at the Kitzingen District Office.

Political career

From 1984 to 2000 Naser was the district administrator of the district of Kitzingen and in this function also chairman of the administrative board of the district and city savings bank Kitzingen .

From 1996 to 2000 he was President of the Bavarian District Assembly and Vice President of the German District Assembly . Until December 31, 1999 he was also a member of the Bavarian Senate .

Bavarian Savings Bank Association

From October 2000 to February 2010, Naser was Executive President of the Bavarian Savings Banks Association. From July 2007 until his resignation as President of the Bavarian Savings Banks Association, he was also Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Sparkassenverlag . Naser continued to hold the post of Chairman of the Board of Directors of BayernLB .

On October 6, 2008, Naser resigned from the CSU. The background was the financial difficulties BayernLB is facing. In order to keep his post as a deputy supervisory board post neutral, Naser decided to leave the CSU. He rejoined in late September 2009.

On December 22, 2009, Naser told the representative of his employer, the 1st President of the Bavarian Savings Banks Association, District Administrator Hansjörg Christmann, that he would resign from his position on January 12, 2010, with effect from January 31, 2010 . As president of the Savings Banks Association, he continues to receive his salary of 600,000 euros until the end of 2012. On September 27, 2010, he refused before the investigative committee of the Bavarian state parliament , which was concerned with the purchase of Hypo Alpe Adria by Bayern LB and the associated losses of 3 , 7 billion euros employed, the statement. He justified this with the complaint that the SPD and Free Voters had brought against him because of these losses, and the threatened criminal proceedings. It was only when he was fined and threatened with detention that he had to testify two days later. In January 2012 BayernLB filed a lawsuit against him in his capacity as former chairman of the administrative board. BayernLB is demanding compensation payments of 200 million euros.

Until February 28, 2010, Naser was a member of the Board of Directors of DekaBank Deutsche Girozentrale .
