Siegfried Schöpfer
Siegfried Erich Schöpfer (born April 5, 1908 in Waldsee ; † September 9, 2007 in Überlingen ) was a German meteorologist .
Career
After graduating from the Friedrich-Eugens-Gymnasium Stuttgart , Schöpfer first studied physics , astronomy and mathematics or actuarial mathematics at the TH Stuttgart and later at the universities of Göttingen and Tübingen . In Tübingen, like his grandfather and brother, he joined the Landsmannschaft Scotland student union .
After graduation, Schöpfer worked for various insurance companies and as a private teacher. In 1939 he was drafted into the Wehrmacht . During the Second World War he was employed as a meteorologist in the Air Force .
After the Second World War , Schöpfer became managing director of the Volkshochschule Eßlingen am Neckar in 1947 . From 1959 to 1975 he was director of the State Academy for Teacher Training in Comburg . Since 1969 he has been a lecturer at the University of Education in Baden-Württemberg for astronomy and meteorology . Schöpfer was a meteorological consultant for sailing regattas for decades and still in old age he was active as a meteorological presenter for the television station " See TV " .
