Siegfried B. Schildmacher (born March 7, 1938 in Driesen ) is a German economist and non-fiction book - author on urban development in Hanover and Freemasonry .

life and work

Siegfried B. Shieldcrafter in 1968 at the University of Saarbruecken with a thesis on the critical and supervisory role of the public to Dr. rer. pole. PhD. In the early 1990s he worked as head of the urban development department in the Lower Saxony state capital, Hanover.

As chair master of the Johannisloge Friedrich zum Weißen Pferde , Siegfried Schildmacher was involved, among other things, in an exhibition shown from 2012 to 2013 at the Historical Museum in Hanover , for which he published the accompanying document in the publishing house of the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Library - Lower Saxony State Library under the title Freemasons - Secret Society or Ethics school? History and current work of the Freemasons in Hanover .

In 2015, Siegfried Schildmacher, as editor, presented the book on Hanoverian streets named after well-known Lodge brothers under the title "In the footsteps of the Freemasons - a stroll through Hanover's streets" at the Historical Museum Hanover.

In 2017, Schildmacher organized the ceremony of the German Freemasons in the Sprengel Museum Hannover to mark the 300th anniversary of Freemasonry.

In addition to his written activities, Schildmacher is also active in public spaces, for example in 2017 for the 250th anniversary of the Hinüberschen garden in Hanover-Marienwerder, which was laid out in the English landscape gardening style : As one of the successors of Jobst Anton von Hinüber , the Friedrich Lodge as chair master to the white horse he led, researched and reactivated the tour in the park, which, among other things, is supposed to show the path of initiation in the "life of a Freemason from apprentice to master."
