Siegfried Voigt
Siegfried Voigt (born October 3, 1950 in Schneeberg ) is a former German handball player .
The goalkeeper played in the GDR Oberliga for BSG Wismut Aue (with Dietmar Schmidt and Harry Zörnack, among others ) and SC Leipzig . With the GDR national team , he finished second at the 1974 World Cup and third at the 1978 World Cup . The greatest success, however, celebrated Voigt at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow , when he and his team by winning the final against the USSR Olympic champion was. For this success he was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in silver.
