Siegmund Andraschek

Siegmund Andraschek (* 9. April 1975 in Vienna ) is an Austrian trombonist , brass music - composer and - Arranger .

Life

Siegmund Andraschek is the son of the trombonist and conductor Siegfried Andraschek. After finishing school he studied trombone at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, majoring in concert and instrumental vocal pedagogy.

He played (partly as a substitute ) in the stage orchestra of the Vienna State Opera , the Vienna Volksopernorchester , the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra , the Vienna Opera Ball Orchestra and the Vienna Operetta Orchestra . From 2004 to 2008 he was a permanent member of the orchestra “recreation” - Large Orchestra Graz . In addition to other master classes, he also attended Christian Lindberg's .

From 2000 to 2016 Andraschek was employed at the Styrian music school Sankt Stefan im Rosental as a teacher for low brass , wind orchestra and wind orchestra conducting, from 2008 to 2010 he also taught at the Admont Abbey High School .

Andraschek founded pettermusic music publishing in 2011 . Since 2014 he has worked as an arranger at the Steyr Music Festival , whose musical direction he took over for the first time in 2017 for the performance of “ West Side Story ”. In 2016 he founded the Cross Over Orchestra Vienna (COOV), with which he mainly records his own compositions and arrangements.

Another focus of Andraschek's work is the creation of teaching materials and the composition of pieces of music with educational content. He also deals with the new instrumentation “Viennese Music” for symphonic wind orchestras.
