As part of this agreement, Sierra Nevada Corporation was awarded $ 212.5 million to continue development and testing of the Dream Chaser. The Dream Chaser is designed as a lifting body missile . In late 2014, however, NASA announced that it would only use SpaceX and Boeing for commercial transportation of people to the ISS.

On January 14, 2016, NASA announced that it had placed an order with Sierra Nevada Corporation for a total of six cargo flights to the ISS. The flights should take place between 2019 and 2024, but later postponed to the period from 2021.
