Alsafi , Bayer designation Sigma Draconis ( σ Dra ), is an approx. 19 light-years distant star of the spectral class G9 V in the constellation Dragon with an apparent visual magnitude of 4.7 mag. Its historical proper name comes from Arabic الأثافي, DMG al-aṯāfī and means "tripod (for cooking)".
