The dp2 Quattro is a compact camera from the Japanese company Sigma . The camera has the new Foveon X3 Quattro sensor and 29 effective megapixels . It also has a lens with a fixed focal length of 30mm. The dp2 Quattro was officially presented in February 2014. The camera will then also be available in Germany in August.

technical features

The Sigma dp2 Quattro is the first camera to be released from the newly developed dp series. The sensor, the processor, the lens and the appearance of the camera have all been revised. The newly developed Foveon X3 direct sensor is the same size, but consists of four times more blue diodes. The blue layer has a resolution of 20 megapixels and the green and red layers each have 4.9 megapixels. Accordingly, the camera has 33 total megapixels and 29 effective megapixels, which are composed of the ratio of 4: 1: 1. The new name "Quattro" refers to that pixel ratio.
