Sigmund Malek

Sigmund Malek (born November 7, 1955 , † April 1, 2016 ; incorrectly often spelled Siegmund Malek ) was a German football player .

Life

The Malek used in the attacking position completed a total of 23 games in the 2nd Bundesliga South for 1. FC Saarbrücken in the 1980/81 season and scored two goals. With the FCS he was relegated to the amateur league.

As a player at HSV Barmbek-Uhlenhorst , Malek had attracted attention in the third-class amateur Oberliga Nord . The player, who came to BU from Wandsbeker FC in 1976, played 128 league games in four league seasons in which he scored 26 goals for the Blue-Yellows before moving to Saarbrücken in 1980 with his team-mate Andreas Brehme . His achievements at BU had led Malek to the German national soccer team of amateurs . He has completed two amateur international matches for the DFB. He came on November 8, 1978 in The Hague against Holland and on March 20, 1979 in Schwenningen in the game against Italy as a right winger.

After his return to Hamburg he played for SV Lurup , SC Concordia Hamburg and TuS Hoisdorf for years in the Oberliga Nord. Overall, he is listed in the amateur league statistics with 340 league games and 36 goals.
