Sigrid Ehrlich , SPSF , (* 1937 in Silesia ) is a German religious sister who makes a living by caring for the homeless in Frankfurt am Main . She is the holder of the Federal Cross of Merit . She is also called " Mother Teresa of Frankfurt".

Life

The example of the founder of the order of the Poor Sisters of St. Francis, Franziska Schervier , brought Barbara Ehrlich to join this order in 1956 and adopted the name Sigrid. She trained in Aachen as a nurse in the mother house of her order. In 1989 she sent her order, the Sisters of the Poor of St. Francis , from Cologne to Frankfurt am Main. Since 1990 she has been active in helping the homeless in Frankfurt; One of the activities of the order is working with the excluded. Activity in the homeless service

Through her association "Lichtblick eV", Sigrid Ehrlich tries to alleviate the plight of homeless people in the Main metropolis. She lives regularly in her monastery and in the house. Another area of ​​their commitment is to provide permanent housing for the homeless and to promote the integration of homeless or homeless people into society. So far 300 permanent apartments have been brokered.
