Sigrid Herzog

Sigrid Herzog (born November 30, 1949 ) is a German theater director .

Life

From 1993 to 2015 Herzog was Vice Director of the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich, one of the most important drama schools in German-speaking countries.

She worked choreographically and staged for the directors Ernst Wendt , Dieter Dorn and Frank-Patrick Steckel , and has been a director herself since 1983. In 1993/94, based on a play by Bernard-Marie Koltès , she shot the film The Night Short Before the Woods for ZDF with Johann von Bülow , for which she also wrote the screenplay .

From 2000 to 2010 she was a lecturer for stage design students at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna . Since 2008 she has been teaching acting at the Opera Studio of the Bavarian State Opera . In addition, she led a number of international theater workshops for the Goethe Institute and the Foreign Office , including in Canada , Ireland , Egypt , Venezuela , Togo and the Ivory Coast .

Sigrid Herzog is the sister of the director Werner Herzog .
