Sigrid Rosenberger

Sigrid Rosenberger (born February 22, 1940 in Reichenau, today's Rychnov in the Czech Republic) is a former German athlete.

Life

The displaced family initially settled in Saalfeld , but fled the GDR to the West in 1958 . Sigrid finished her training as a chemical engineer in Landau . In 1969 she married Walter Rosenberger, who, like her, was involved in athletics. In 1972 their child, Peter Rosenberger, was born, and later Lord Mayor of Horb am Neckar . In 1978 she ended her professional career, but continues to do sport and volunteer work.

Sports career

Rosenberger started for the Post-SG Mannheim . She became South German champion over 200 and 400 meters . In 1969 she was able to win the German championship in 6: 41.4 minutes in Hanover with the 3 x 800 meter relay of the Post-SG Mannheim (Sigrid Rosenberger, Rosemarie Fuhrmann , Anita Rottmüller ). In the same year, the three Mannheim women won the national title in the team competition in the forest run in Plattling .
