The silver almond ( Prunus argentea ) is a species of the Prunus genus .

The silver almond is a bulky shrub that reaches heights of about 2.5 meters. The bark of young twigs is tomentose or glossy with gray silk. The leaves are 2 to 4 centimeters long, elliptical to egg-shaped, only very weakly serrate, pointed long and tomentose on the underside. The flowers are single or in pairs. They are light pink and have a very short stalk. The flower cup is broadly bell-shaped. The fruit is 15 millimeters long, ovate, tomentose and hard-fleshed. The stone core is furrowed with weak stripes.
The flowering time is in April.
Occurrence
The silver almond is found in Syria, Lebanon, northern Iraq, western Iran and eastern Turkey.
