The Silbersee is one of the eight lakes in Binsfeld that have been dredged for the purpose of gravel extraction . It is located in the northernmost part of the Rhine lowlands of Speyer and belongs to the Speyer-Nord district .
With 6 hectares, the Silbersee is the smallest of the eight Binsfeld lakes. It is 13 meters deep.
It lies north of the Binsfeld lake , between the Biersiedersee in the west and the northern part of the Gänsedrecksee in the east.
The Silbersee is rented in full to the Speyer Windsurf Club. Further uses are not permitted.
North of the Silbersee is a large public parking lot, which is chargeable during the bathing season. It is connected to the north via Kreisstraße 2. This path is restricted from the lakes and continues between Gänsedrecksee and Silbersee. At the southern end of the Silbersee it turns west and runs between Lake Binsfeld in the south and the southern shores of Silbersee and Biersiedersee to Wildentenweg. In the past, the gravel and gravel sand extracted was transported away via this route.
