Kitbuilders are an electro duo from Cologne .

The duo consisting of the singer Ripley and the keyboardist Benway, who previously u. a. played in the bands Les Immer Essen and King Candy . The Kitbuilders were among the first acts to mix new wave and electro and do electroclash . Their first releases came out on labels like Electrecord, Breakin Records (the label of the English electro act DMX Krew ), Vertical and World Electric. They also released on Television Records and Ersatz Audio, the label of the Detroit band ADULT. and worked with New York artist Eric Parnes. Her album Wake Up was released worldwide. The Groove magazine called the album "... one of the ten best albums of the year 2001 ..."

Her publications include compilations on Larry Tee's Electroclash series (Larry Tee coined the term "Electroclash". The Kitbuilders played at the opening of his club in New York) and Dr Lectroluv's Electrocuted compilation.

The band played in clubs and at festivals in the USA, England, Scotland, Turkey, Scandinavia (including the Roskilde Festival ), Spain - and others. a. Benicassim Festival in 2003, Sónar Festival in 2000, Belgium, Holland (Eurosonic Festival 2001 in Groningen), Fusion Festival etc. In London they played a.o. a. in the legendary Club Fabric and contributed a track to the Fabric 8 compilation. The title track of the Wake Up album was selected by Ralf Hildenpaket for the soundtrack of the Loveparade film Be Angeled . The Kitbuilders produced some remixes for other artists, including New York act Lectronix feat. Electro artist and Klaus Nomi producer Man Parrish . Your current, z. You Trashed My Mind , partly mastered by Bob Humid , is distributed by Kompakt and PIAS .
