Ralf Hilden Beutel (born March 6, 1969 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German music producer and composer. He was instrumental in the development of the musical style trance . Together with AC Boutsen (Matthias Hoffmann) and Stevie B-Zet (Steffen Britzke) he was part of the regular staff of the record label Eye Q Records . The scene magazine Frontpage wrote in 1995 that around 90% of all trance publications were based on the typical Eye Q style.

Between 1991 and 1998 Ralf Hildenpaket produced all of the releases of the star DJ Sven Väth . His most important solo project was Earth Nation , the first techno act to appear at events with live percussion , with which he played at the 1994 Montreux Jazz Festival . He produced other club hits under the project names Cygnus X (with AC Boutsen) and Odyssee of Noises (with AC Boutsen and Sven Väth). Since then Hilden Beutel has been working regularly as a film composer, such as B. for the experimental film Hommage à Noir (1996).

When the Eye Q label moved to Berlin in 1997 (where it filed for bankruptcy after a short time ), Ralf Hilden Beutel stayed in Frankfurt. Together with Matthias Hoffmann and Steffen Britzke he founded Schallbau . He turned away from trance and techno and began to produce well-known artists, including Simon Collins , Laith Al-Deen , Yvonne Catterfeld and Andreas Bourani . In 2008, Schallbau split up and since then he has mainly composed film scores, often working with Stevie B-Zet . Since that time, film scores such as B. for Vincent wants Meer , Bastard or the Italian TV series Maltese- Il Romanzo Del Comissario.

Ralf Hilden Beutel has received various awards, including the VIVA Comet as best national producer and the gold medal at the New York Festivals for the film music for Hommage a Noir . In 2013 he received a nomination for the short film Momentum at the Newport International Festival for his film music and in 2017 he received the Golden Horseman from the Dresden International Film Festival for the music for A Villa with Pine Trees .
