The divorced logistics specialist Matthias Bleuel is sent from a Leverkusen fashion mail order business by his boss Fengler on a business trip to the company's sales point in Kemerovo , Siberia . Matthias and Sajana get closer, but eventually he travels back to Germany. In the meantime, his company has stopped trading with Russia. Bleuel quits and travels back to Sajana in Siberia , gives Artjom and his friend his apartment key after learning from Ilka that she is pregnant. He jumps into a lake for winter bathing as the last shot of the film.
