Bergschorien , also called Schoria or Schoria-Bergland ( Russian Го́рная Шо́рия , transcribed Gornaja Schorija ), is a low mountain range in southern Siberia , northeast of the Altai Mountains.

The area which occupies the southern part of the Kemerovo Oblast , the boundaries of which are only vaguely defined, includes the southeastern foothills of the Salair Ridge , the southwestern foothills of the Kuznetsk Alatau and the eastern part of the Abakan Mountains between Kuznetsk Alatau and Western Sayan. Most of the mountain is covered by taiga , in which aspens and firs predominate.

The most important rivers are the left Tom tributaries, Kondoma and Mras-Su . The largest cities of Bergschoriens are in the valleys of these rivers. In addition to the industrial cities of Meschduretschensk , Myski and Ossinniki on the northern edge of the area, the mining center Tashtagol with the nearby settlements of Temirtau and Mundybasch in the central part of Bergschorien is particularly important . The area, which is rich in mineral resources - above all iron and manganese ore and hard coal - is cut through by the Novokuznetsk - Abakan and Novokuznetsk - Tashtagol railway lines .

The indigenous people of the mountain choirs represent the eponymous shores .
