Silvana Nötzli (born April 9, 1989 ) is a former Swiss floorball player . Nötzli played in the Swiss national team and, as their captain, led the team to bronze in the 2013 World Cup. At club level she was able to win a championship title in Switzerland with the Red Ants Rychenberg Winterthur and in Sweden with KAIS Mora IF .

Club career

Silvana Nötzli began playing floorball in her grandmother's house at the age of four and first played floorball for the Bülach Juniors before moving to the Red Ants Rychenberg Winterthur Juniors . She played her first National League A games with the red ants in 2005 and scored her first goal there in October 2005 and remained loyal to the team for the next few years.

Two and a half years after her debut in the first team of the Red Ants, she made her debut in the Swiss national team on February 2, 2008 , after having played for the U19 national team, including at the U19 World Championships in 2006. In the Nötzli soon became a regular member of the senior national team and had played 75 games for the national team by 2015, most recently as their captain.

In 2011 she was finally able to win the Swiss championship title and the Swiss Cup together with the Red Ants . After this success she moved to the Swedish top club KAIS Mora IF , where she was to stay for four years. In 2013 she was named the best “defender of the 2012/13 season” by the Innebandymagazinet and was the first foreigner to receive this title. At the 2013 World Cup , after leading the national team to bronze as their captain, she was elected to the tournament's all-stars team. In 2014 they finally managed to win the Swedish championship title with Mora.

After winning the championship, she returned to Winterthur to join the Red Ants. After qualifying for the 2015 World Cup, she fell out with national coach Sascha Brendler and therefore did not take part in the 2015 World Cup and announced her retirement from floorball at the age of only 26 after a season in Winterthur. Her name was mentioned by the “Floorball Today” portal as one of the best players who ended her career in summer 2016.
