The Silver Lake Township is a township in Susquehanna County in the US -amerikanischen state Pennsylvania . In 2010 the township had 1,716 inhabitants.

Demographic data

According to the 2000 census , the Silver Lake Township was home to 1,729 people, distributed among 626 households and 502 families. The population density was 20 inhabitants per km². There were 1,037 residential units with an average settlement density of 12 inhabitants per km². The population was composed as follows: 98.15% White, 0.23% African American , 0.46% Native American , 0.06% Asian American , 0.06% Pacific Islander , 0.23% other races and 0.81% two or more races. Regardless of race, 0.81% were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 626 households. 37.7% of them had children under the age of 18, 69.8% were married couples living together, 6.4% were female single parents and 19.8% had no families. 16.1% were single-person households and 5.3% lived alone and were 65 years of age or older. The average household had 2.76 people and an average family 3.09 people.

In terms of age, the population was composed as follows: 28.5% under 18, 6.0% between 18 and 24, 28.3% between 25 and 44, 26.8% between 45 and 64 and 10.3% 65 or older . The median age was 39 years. For every 100 women there were 104 men. For every 100 women over the age of 18 there were 105 men over the age of 18.

The median income for a household was $ 48,063 and the median income for a family was $ 51,420. Men had a median income of $ 35,337 and women had a median income of $ 24,342. The township's per capita income was $ 21,090. About 5.1% of all families and 6.3% of the population are below the poverty line , including 8.1% of those under 18 and 10.2% of those over 65.
