The Silver Towers are two 60-story apartment skyscrapers in New York City . The two skyscrapers on the western edge of Midtown Manhattan are each 200 meters high. But they are not among the 50 tallest buildings in New York . Due to their duplication and the location on the edge of the island, the two silver shimmering buildings stand out clearly in the skyline of the city. The towers are particularly visible from the Hudson River and New Jersey . Construction was commissioned in 2006 and started in 2007. In 2009 the buildings were completed. The owner and builder is the New York real estate company Silverstein Properties , which is also involved in the World Trade Center reconstruction. Both towers were designed by the Greek architect Costas Kondylis . He had already built a residential skyscraper in New York in 2001 with the Trump World Tower .
