Silver Trail

The Silver Trail (also Yukon Highway 11 ) connects the settlements of Mayo , Elsa and Keno City with the Klondike Highway near Stewart Crossing , where the Klondike Highway meets the Stewart River .

The road was built in 1950/51 as Whitehorse-Mayo-Road , and was named Yukon Highway 2. In 1978 the trail was renumbered, it now had the number 11. In the mid-1980s, the name "Silver Trail" was added, which Refers to previous silver mining activities in the area.

The highway is asphalted to Mayo Airport , after which it is continued as a so-called gravel road (unpaved road) to Elsa and Keno City.
