Silvia Behnke

Silvia Behnke (* in Germany before 1970 ) is a German ballet dancer and theater pedagogue at the Krefeld and Mönchengladbach theaters .

She gained her first stage experience at the age of seven and made her debut as a soloist when she was eleven. She studied dance at the John Cranko Academy and at the Heino Heiden ballet school . In 1987 she graduated as a ballet teacher.

From 1981 to 1988 she was a soloist in the Lübeck children's dance theater Heino Heiden in Lübeck and in the Schleswig-Holstein ballet ensemble . Numerous guest appearances throughout Europe were added. In 1989 she started working as a dancer at the combined stages in Krefeld / Mönchengladbach , where she has been a soloist since 1992. In 2010 she ended her career as a solo dancer and became a theater pedagogue at Theater Krefeld / Mönchengladbach, where she staged and choreographed several productions for the youth club in addition to workshops.

Silvia Behnke has been awarded the Rheinische Post Theater Oscar five times as best dancer. This prize is given by theatergoers to ensemble members who have drawn attention to themselves with special achievements during the season. She received the art promotion award from the Theaterverein Krefeld as well as various supraregional critic prizes and was honored several times as best dancer in the critics' survey of North Rhine-Westphalia .

She worked on numerous choreographies, also in the context of Young Choreographers .

Since 1995 she has been teaching as a ballet teacher, among others in Tanzhaus NRW , beginners and advanced.
