Silvia Stolzenburg

Silvia Stolzenburg (* 1974 ) is a German writer . She writes detective novels , thrillers and historical novels .

life and work

After studying German and English , Silvia Stolzenburg completed her doctorate in 2006 at the University of Tübingen . In her doctoral thesis, she examined and described the formulas and mechanisms of contemporary bestsellers . She applied the knowledge gained in this way when she began her literary work after graduation. Between 2010 and 2018 she published 18 novels, including several trilogies and book series .

Stolzenburg's novels are often set in the Baden-Württemberg city of Ulm , which Stolzenburg knows well. In their “Ulm Trilogy”, for example, the construction of the Ulm Minster is a theme. In one of her Stuttgart Regional Crime part of the action takes place in Ulm, and in the 2017 incurred thriller "blood trail" the protagonist is the Ulm Military Police Mark Becker .

In February 2013 she was a founding member of the HOMER Historische Literatur eV association in Ulm and was its 1st chairwoman until 2015. Since 2014, the association has been awarding the HOMER literature prize for the best historical novels and short stories of the previous year. Stolzenburg herself was awarded the HOMER for four of her historical novels.

The author lives in the Swabian Alb.
