Silvina Landsmann (born July 21, 1965 in Buenos Aires , Argentina ) is an Israeli documentary filmmaker .

Life

Compatriot completed her film studies at Tel Aviv University and then spent the next 10 years in Paris . Her first film, Collège, was made in France in 1997 . In 1995, within 5 weeks of the Paul Vaillant-Couturier primary school in Champigny-sur-Marne , a suburb of Paris, recordings of immigrant children and their problems in France were recorded. In 1998 she received the Prix des Ecrans Documentaires at the Festival de Gentilly. After returning to Israel, she founds her production company Comino Films . Her first in-house production appeared in 2004 with Post Partum ( German: after the birth ). It is the juxtaposition of different perspectives of a maternity ward in Israel, where the mass processing of medical care for newborns after delivery and, in contrast, care for mothers are in the foreground. In 2007, Unto Thy Land is a documentary about the sculptor Moshe Shek and his surroundings. Shek, who in 2005 created a joint sculpture for the stones on the border with the Palestinian Ahmad Canaan , was already known in Israel for his works of art . Soldier / Citizen ( Hebrew Bagrut Lochamim , German maturity test for fighters ) ran for the first time at the 2012 Berlinale . The matriculation examination for fighters is the name of a special program of the Israeli army that enables soldiers to catch up on their Abitur at the end of their service life. For several weeks, tutoring courses in civics were followed with the camera. After three years of military service in the occupied territories, many young men struggle with concepts such as democracy , pluralism and human rights .
