Simon Berg

Simon Berg (born February 26, 1973 in Munich ) is a German singer ( bass ) and conductor .

Life

Simon Berg grew up in Munich, the capital of Bavaria. After graduating from high school, he was a student at the Richard Strauss Conservatory from 1993 to 1999 in the fields of voice and piano. Berg has worked as an organist and choir director since 1989. At the Munich Biennale he was at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz a . a. in Carl Orff's Astutuli on stage. In some opera projects he sang the roles of Papageno , Don Giovanni and Nick Shadow.

Berg appears as bass in song recitals and oratorio concerts as well as opera and operetta evenings . In 2001 he was appointed conductor and répétiteur of the musical The Glöckner von Notre Dame in the Theater am Potsdamer Platz Berlin . In addition to his work as a private lecturer for piano, accompaniment and voice, Simon Berg sings as a choir member of the Deutsche Oper Berlin . Between 2002 and 2005 he performed several guest performances at the Hansa Theater and the Karlshorst Theater in Berlin. In 2004 he was the soloist (Pilatus) of the CD production of the St. Matthew Passion by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach . He was seen at the world premiere of Die Klage des Pleberio in Saalbau Neukölln . In 2006 he took over the direction of RIAS forum concerts. Since 2007, Berg has been the soloist of the Residence Concerts at Charlottenburg Palace in Berlin. At the Klassikfestspiele Monschau he conducted several operettas (including The Merry Widow and Countess Mariza ).

In 2007 he could be seen in the Wintergarten Varieté Berlin in the show Forioso! . In 2009 he sang at the benefit concert for UNDINE in the Philharmonie Berlin . Simon Berg lives in Berlin.
