Simon Jermyn

Simon Jermyn (* 1981 ) is an Irish jazz musician ( bass , guitar , electronics).

Simon Jermyn first learned classical guitar before taking an interest in jazz. After graduating in Dublin in 2000, he obtained a diploma in jazz studies, and then studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. He then lived in The Hague and Reykjavík . He obtained his master's degree in jazz performance at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag , where he taught a. a. with Eric Ineke , John Ruocco and Ronan Guilfoyle . Since then he has been working on various projects in the spectrum from jazz , new improvisation music , noise toSinger-songwriter . He is at recordings u. a. heard from Ryan Plotnick and Pete Robbins .

In 2009 he released his debut album Trot a Mouse on Fresh Sound / New Talent . He plays in the Duo Morla with Sean Og. In 2010 the solo album Hynmi was released by Diatribe Recordings with original compositions. Jermyn lives in New York City.
