Simon Kean (born January 11, 1989 in Trois-Rivières , Province of Québec ) is a Canadian professional boxer.
Career
The approximately 1.96 m tall super heavyweight (+91 kg) became Canadian champion in 2011 and came third in the American Olympic qualification in Rio de Janeiro in May 2012 . This qualified him for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London . There he won in the round of 16 just on points against the youth Olympic champion Tony Yoka , but then retired in the quarter-finals against Iwan Dytschko and thus reached 5th place. In 2015 he won the Canadian Championship again. In August 2015 he won a bronze medal at the Pan American Championships in Venezuela.
Kean has been boxing in the professional camp since November 2015. In June 2017 he won the IBO intercontinental championship . In June 2018 he also became WBC Francophone Champion. He lost to Dillon Carman by knockout in October 2018, but won the rematch in June 2019 by TKO.
On December 7, 2019, he won the WBC International title with a TKO victory against Sjarhej Lyachowitsch .
