Simon Pellaud (born November 6, 1992 ) is a Swiss cyclist .

Career

Simon Pellaud first drew attention to himself when he came third in the Swiss Junior Mountain Championships in 2009. The following year, Pellaud won the Junior Bern Tour . At the end of 2011 became an intern at Atlas Personal . He drove there the next year as well. In 2013 Pellaud won the title of Swiss champion in the U23 road race. At the end of 2014 he was an intern at IAM Cycling and received a professional contract with the team. In 2016 he was awarded the red number as the most active driver on the third stage of the Vuelta a España .

In 2017 he switched to Team Illuminate , where he won the second stage of the Tour of Rwanda for the team in November of that year with a 1:30 minute lead. He wore the yellow jersey for two days as the overall leader and ended up tenth overall. After Pellaud was runner-up each stage in the Tour of Almaty and in the Tour of Romania in 20148 , he achieved a stage win in the last stage of the Tour of Hainan in the last race of the season . He won the victory from an escape group, from which he was able to break away about 3 km from the finish and drove to the finish with a small margin. In 2019 he moved to IAM Excelsior .
