Simon Simonius

Simon Simonius (* around 1522 in Lucca ; † 1602 ; also Amadeus Curtius Ticinensis ) was an Italian medic .

Since he joined the Protestantism joined, left Simonius Italy and went to Switzerland to Geneva , where he became professor of Artes 1565th He later went to Heidelberg and in 1569 moved to Leipzig . In Electorate Saxony he became the personal physician of the Elector August . But Simonius did not stay in Saxony, but moved on to Silesia and Poland.

His daughter Magdalena stayed in Leipzig, where she married the mayor Friedrich Mayer and in 1610 gave birth to the future builder Jacob Mayer .
