Simon Webbe
Simon Solomon Webbe (born March 30, 1979 in Manchester ) is a British singer who was best known as a member of the boy group Blue .
Solo career
Webbe used a creative break for the band, as did his band colleague Lee Ryan before , to pursue a solo project. In the summer of 2005 he released his debut single Lay Your Hands , which reached number 4 in the UK charts. Webbe was best known in German-speaking countries through the song Coming Around Again , which was released in autumn 2006. Webbe contributed the theme song Ride the Storm for the comic book adaptation Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer . Together with the song Grace it was released as a single in June 2007.
In 2008 he participated in the eighth season of the British television show I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! part.
Blue
In 2001 he founded the boy band Blue with singers Lee Ryan , Duncan James and Antony Costa . The band became one of the most successful in Great Britain. Between 2001 and 2003, the band's three singles and three albums landed at number 1 on the local charts. Blue sold around 13 million records worldwide.
Private
Webbe showed outstanding talent as a football player as a youth. However, a serious injury prevented him from pursuing a career as a professional player. Keisha Buchanan , a former member of the girl group Sugababes , is his cousin. He has a daughter who lives with her mother in the UK.
