Simona Paggi

Simona Paggi (* before 1970 in Milan ) is an Italian film editor .

Life

Paggi was born in the 1960s. After completing her school education, Paggi first received a diploma in photography and graphics from "ITSOS" and then attended the Milan film school "Albedo", where she focused on film editing and also graduated.

Paggi began working as an assistant editor in the 1980s, but also gained experience in sound editing and was hired for documentaries. The film Open Doors by Gianni Amelio was her first feature film production as an independent editor, and she was immediately nominated for the David di Donatello . Several joint projects followed with director Amelio until the 2000s. In total, Paggi has been involved in more than 75 productions so far. She worked with all the well-known Italian directors of the new generation.

In 1992 she won a David di Donatello for the film Stolen Children . Four more nominations followed. For her work on Life is Beautiful , she was nominated for the Best Editing category at the 1999 Academy Awards.
