Simone Sunshine

Simone Sonnenschein is a German jazz - saxophonist .

Sonnenschein was a student of the Cologne saxophone mafia musicians Wollie Kaiser and Gerhard Veeck and studied with Hugo Read at the Folkwang University in Essen . She then played in various ensembles, including in a duo with guitarist Ulrich Galden and in Sebastian Gramss ' quintet Underkarl . For several years she was solo saxophonist in the Rhineland-Palatinate Jazz Orchestra .

With Peter Eisold , Martin Scholz and her brother Detlef Sonnenschein she forms the AOS Ensemble (album Stimmerung ). As the leader of the Sunshine Quartet (with Eisold, Scholz and Hartmut Kracht ) she recorded the album Jazz from Twelve Centuries (1999). For years she has appeared as Angelika Kleinknecht with the cabaret artist Piet Klocke , in 2009 at the Arosa Humor Festival , in the live program Pimp Your Self or Life is beautiful - please! .
