Simson S70

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Simson S70 and Super 80 or Super S 80 are light motorcycles from Simson that are based on the S51 model ; However, they had 70 cc engines with 4.1 kW (5.6 hp). The successor is the S83 based on the S53 .

The Simson light motorcycles Super 80 and Super 80 Enduro were created on the initiative of the Stuttgart tire wholesaler Lange as export models for West Germany and were presented in early 1983 in the magazine " Motorrad ".

The increase in displacement was achieved by enlarging the bore to 45 mm while maintaining the stroke of 44 mm. Furthermore, the primary ratio was changed (1: 2.95) and a reinforced disc spring was used for the clutch. The maximum speed is 75 km / h. The West German formula for light motorcycles - a maximum of 80 cm³, rated power at a maximum of 6000 rpm and a maximum speed of 80 km / h was taken into account.

Later, both models were also offered in the GDR as the S70 and S70 Enduro.

There are the following models:

  • Super 80 or Super S 80
  • Super 80 Enduro or Super S 80 Enduro
  • S70 C ("Comfort") - like S51 C, but with a 70 cm³ engine
  • S70 E (“ Enduro ”) - like S51 E, but with a 70 cm³ engine
  • S70 E / S as a single-seat off-road competition model in small series
