Sense Eeg

Sens Eeg (born September 1, 1977 in Lemvig ) is a Danish jazz singer and composer. She is one of the best jazz singers in Scandinavia .

Act

Eeg has been studying at the Vestjysk Music Conservatory in Esbjerg since 1997 , where she graduated in 2003; she also took lessons from Janet Lawson in New York.

Eeg, who is influenced by Nancy Wilson , Betty Carter and Sarah Vaughan , has released albums under his own name since 2003. In addition to American jazz standards , she also interprets Danish theater and film music from the 1930s to 1960s. She toured Europe, Japan, China, and the United States. Her appearance at JazzBaltica 2009 was broadcast on Deutschlandfunk .

Eeg has received the Danish Music Award three times in the “Best Danish Vocal Jazz Album of the Year” category: 2007, 2010 and 2014 for her albums Waiting for Dawn, Don't Be So Blue and Face the Music . In 2014 she received the Ben Webster Prize and the Prix ​​Billie Holiday .
